The Tidy Sister
Privacy Policy
The Tidy Sister (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a licensed and insured residential and commercial cleaning company based in Gresham, Oregon. We know that letting someone into your home or business takes trust, and that trust extends to the information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to our website at thetidysister.com, our contact and quote forms, our phone and text lines, and the services we provide to our clients.
1.Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact and quote requests. When you call, text, or submit a form on our site, we collect your name, phone number, email address, service address, and the details you share about your home or facility (square footage, number of rooms, condition, pets, services requested, preferred schedule).
- Client account information. If you become a client, we keep your service address, access instructions, scheduling preferences, special requests, and notes our cleaners need to do the job properly and consistently.
- Payment information. We accept payment through third-party processors and by check, cash, and person-to-person transfer. Card and bank details are handled directly by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Job applications. If you apply for a position, we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, contact details, work history, resume, references, and eligibility information.
- Anything else you send us. Emails, text messages, reviews, photos of a space, and other communications.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. When you visit our site we automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, time spent, and the site or ad that referred you.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Our site uses cookies and pixels for basic functionality, analytics, and advertising. See Section 3.
2.How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Prepare and send you a customized quote.
- Schedule, staff, and perform your cleaning service, including matching you with the same cleaner whenever possible.
- Communicate with you about your quote, appointments, arrival windows, schedule changes, and completed work.
- Process payments, send invoices and receipts, and keep accounting records.
- Respond to questions, requests, and concerns.
- Review and respond to employment applications.
- Understand how our website is used and improve it.
- Measure the performance of our advertising and show our ads to people likely to need cleaning services in our area.
- Maintain the safety and security of our business, our team, and our clients, and meet legal, tax, and insurance obligations.
3.Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as pages visited, time on site, and general location. You can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on.
Advertising. We use advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook) pixel and Google Ads tags. These place cookies that let us measure whether an ad led to a quote request and let those platforms show our ads to you on their services and elsewhere. This activity may be considered “targeted advertising” or a “sale” or “share” of personal information under some state privacy laws, even though we receive no money for it. You can limit it through:
- Your ad settings on Facebook, Instagram, and Google.
- Your browser’s cookie controls, or a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor where required.
- Industry opt-out pages at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
Blocking cookies will not stop you from requesting a quote or receiving service.
4.Text Messages
If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your quote request, your scheduled visit, your cleaner’s arrival, and other service updates. You can reply STOP at any time to end messages, or HELP for assistance. We do not send marketing texts, and we never share text messaging opt-in data or consent with any third party for their own purposes. Full details are in our SMS Terms and Conditions.
5.How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only in these situations:
- Our team. Cleaners and staff assigned to your home or business receive the address, access details, and service notes they need to do the work.
- Service providers. Companies that run our scheduling software, payment processing, accounting, email and text messaging platforms, website hosting, and analytics. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Advertising and analytics platforms. As described in Section 3, limited website activity data is shared with these platforms.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients, our team, or the public, including in connection with insurance claims.
- Business transfers. If the business is sold or reorganized, client information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6.How We Protect Your Information
We limit access to client information to the people who need it to do their jobs, use reputable vendors for scheduling and payment, and keep access instructions and keys under controlled handling procedures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the safety of your information and your home seriously.
7.How Long We Keep Information
We keep client information for as long as you are a client and afterward as needed for accounting, tax, insurance, and legal purposes. Quote requests that do not become bookings are kept for a limited period in case you come back to us. Applicant information is kept for a reasonable period after the hiring decision. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details.
8.Your Choices and Rights
You may, at any time:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep for legal, tax, or insurance reasons.
- Opt out of targeted advertising, as described in Section 3.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, or stop texts by replying STOP.
Depending on where you live, including Oregon and California, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. To make a request, email thetidysister@gmail.com or call us. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights, and we may need to verify your identity before we act on a request.
